More about Electrolysis and Red Vein Electrolysis (Diathermy)
Electrolysis
Electrolysis is the longest established method of permanent hair reduction. It works by passing a small amount of energy (current) into the hair follicle through a very fine probe. This produces a chemical and/or heat reaction that destroys the cells at the base of the hair. Each hair is probed individually and then removed using tweezers. Electrolysis can be used to treat most areas on the face and body but is best suited for treating small localised areas such as the upper lip, chin, eyebrows, nipples, bikini areas and ears. Red Vein Electrolysis (Diathermy)
Diathermy is an advanced technique used by an Electrologist to reduce and eliminate individual, visible surface capillaries (thread veins) and spider veins, on the face. Diathermy is the cauterisation by heat current of the visible capillaries, which are in the epidermal layers of the skin. |
